They had the opportunity to name it “spaceballs 2, the search for more money” as referenced in the original, but they blew it.
There’s still plenty of time for a proper title
The announcement implies it is titled “the schwartz awakens”
Nah, that’s just how they’re announcing the date. If that were the actual title it would be on its own line with at least some kind of special font treatment.
It could be either. The schwarts awakens is a reference to the force awakens and could be a fitting although disappointing title if the film is going to parody the newer stuff from star wars.

“After forty years, we asked, what do the fans want? But instead we’re making this movie.”
The real satire would be for this to be a genuine, original story that’s just using the name and has nothing else to do with the first.
Spaceballs 2, or how Hollywood’s cowardly investors can only tolerate new, original material in an old suit.
Setting a release date for 2027, when Mel turns 101… hope he makes it!
What’s next for Mel Brooks? Death!
Every time I see him, my genuine reaction is “holy shit, Mel Brooks is still alive?”
I’ll wait for reviews to come out before deciding if I want to watch this. So long after the first was released, feels like a cash grab.
I mean, if they follow through with the joke from the first movie, it’s going to be subtitled “the search for more money”.
I will say, that would be a good sign for the movie.
I will 100% watch it and review it for you. Mel Brooks can have my money.
I will await for your review lol.
I hate to tell you, but it would be a miracle if Brooks himself saw a dime. He’s 98.
