I thought this was a given when they announced it tbh. Having those games be televised the NBA would be able to capitalise on those people that don’t really follow the NBA.

Being able to watch a whole tournament (albeit smaller) without needing League Pass would be amazing. It’s also a way to make people care about it, since apparently most don’t.

How many national channels and timeslots do you think exist that they’d be able to air all 30 teams on national television? This doesn’t even make sense…

After group stages, then yeah that makes sense. But the entire tournament? That doesn’t make any logistical sense…

Yeah if they want people to care and be more invested in this tournament, then go ahead and find a way to put it on the big screen.

The games should be spread out, not all on one or two days of the week. Max of 2 tournament games a day, and both should be on TNT/ESPN

Every game? they have been doing them on espn’s friday double header and now tnts. They can only assign games the same way under the current tv deal. Ig if you are saying just spread them out a lil more then yea.

They’re going to package the whole tournament up and sell it to a streamer for the new media deal. (rumor today was Netflix, which previously hasn’t been interested in live sports at all).

To start they should have streamed for free on YouTube. Everyone at least takes a nibble in to free shit.

If the goal was to get more fans then yes. Most ppl can’t afford to watch NBA games. I’ve always been a huge NBA fan and 99.9% of what I have to watch is YouTube highlights which sucks if you truly love basketball. Spurs/Okc and Clips/Nugs is free on HBO tonight tho. If they’re only gonna give us 2 games every 2 weeks at least let us pick which 2 games we want lol
