hi, i got my grandma’s house last year and since then i’ve been finding lots of watches, most of them don’t work anymore but this one did, I really like the design, even though I know its a “lady’s” watch, my wrist is not that big so I got it’s service done and started wearing it

my quiestions are:

-does anyone here know from what year is the watch? my watchmaker told me the watch and the strap were original but could not tell me the year

-can i shower/swim with it? (probably not because of the age the watch probably has but I’d still like to know

greetings from mx

It is an Orient Rhombus, one of the sub models of orient Y469772 item code? It looks to be between $99-$450 depending on the style. Made between 1970-1979. Do not shower with any older watches unless they are specifically made for it. This one is not lol

Probably the THC but this watch makes me want to listen to Pearl Jam’s The Colour and the Shape. The colors and funky shape remind me on the album cover. That’s a cool watch.

I would love to find cool vintage watches like this. I don’t even know what keywords to use to search for something like this

I wouldn’t shower/swim with it. That’s always a risky proposition with vintage watches, even if they have a rating that normally would be fine for those activities. You can ask your watchmaker, he was inside there and would have a better idea, but I wouldn’t risk it. Cool watch though, I dig it

Awesome find you lucky Grandson of a …, very nice woman, ;-) The watch has pretty cool name too, Orient Rhombus. Highly doubt you’ll run across another one.

Ask the watchmaker who serviced it if they think you can swim with it, they’ll probably say no.
