There are a lot of watches that are “field-ish” watches. There are the iconic Rolex Explorers, the Hamilton Fields, and so much more. But then there is the Omega Railmaster. I think the Railmaster is the closest thing to a field watch that Omega makes and is “field-ish” with it’s lack of date and simple design. Its heritage lies in the tool watch realm deisgned for high magnetic envrioments, but is it a field watch?

What do you think?

My favorite is the demin version.

It’s technically a time only sports watch, but I’d also consider it an option for somebody that wants a field watch.

I don’t believe that this model has any military history, so it would get subcategorized separately from a military field watch such as the Hamilton Khaki Field Mechanical.

I would not consider it a field watch…. But it does have some field like elements. I would say it’s a sports watch that borrows some themes from field watches.
