I actually asked someone in a local IWC boutique the same question. Apparently if you wind it too far forward either you get one free “do-over” where they’ll send it back and reset it for you. The other option is waiting until the date that you wound it to comes around and then wearing it again

Related, Leo wears a Konstantin Chaykin Joker throughout the series. Rahul Kohli, who played Leo, is a massive fan of Hamill, and he said the watch was chosen as a nod to Hamill’s voice work as The Joker in the Batman animated series. Rahul said that Mike Flanagan picked out all the watches for the cast, so he must be a watch guy.
