Hi all I am working with a local seller who has a Tag Carrera Calibre 16 for sale ref # CV201AP.

When I asked for pics of the warranty card and case back to cross reference serial number on Tag’s site nothing comes up.

Seller is saying the activation system I am looking at is to validate the warranty and nothing more. It will not return any result if serial number was never attached to warranty card.

Does this sound right? It looks real, seller even sent me a picture of receipt from AD, although it can be easily replicated.

Any advice would be helpful.

What exactly does “I’m working with a local seller…” actually mean, is that just some kind of weird way of saying you’re thinking of buying something they’re selling?

Just sounds weird, like, if someone said

“I’m working with Walmart on their new range of cornflakes”

I’d expect more than they were just grocery shopping!

Just tell the seller you’d like to meet at a local watchmaker to get the watch authenticated at your expense. The papers and serial number reference don’t mean anything for authentication.
