I remember the hype coming out of duke, how teams were tanking for him, the “generational” talent/prospect talks. How by this time Zion would either be the straight up face of the league or one of them. Definitely a top ten player and more than likely a top 5 player by now. That basically didn’t happen, he’s been surpassed by other young players since. I legit remember several Who would you rather have going forward Luka or Zion threads. It’s crazy

It’s hard to watch when by like 24 he’s already clearly slower and doesn’t jump nearly as high.

Sky was the limit and he’s regressing before 25

He trots around like NFL lineman with an extra 200 pounds that he doesn’t need. His joints can’t even take normal motion anymore and he’s not even 25. Shame to see

LBJ’s body aside, most guys carrying around that much weight aren’t going to last long in the NBA. Way too much pounding and jumping. His knees, his back, his hips are going to grind down way too fast with that build of his.

(Add in his less-than-devoted attitude towards rehab and getting/staying in shape, he’s not helping his career at all.)

The craziest thing is enes kanter was 100% right

He’s Julius Randle with hops. And Julius at least shoots. Zion has Ben Simmons shot chart. Paint only.

Just went and watched, he’s definitely a step slower and less explosive.
