I might be cooking a TV microwave dinner but I’m curious as to what others think about this trade.
Obviously there are going to be some picks from the Pels to both the Pacers and Raptors, but I’m unsure as to how many. This trade will drastically improve the Pels so I won’t talk to much about them.
Pacers: they don’t really need to this as I’d would destroy the spacing in their most used lineup with Obi at the 4, but I believe that the Pacers would benefit from a stronger center in a lineup without Toppin and surround Hali and JV with the young guys and it’s still a fun, attacking and enticing lineup. I also do believe that if the Pacers get Jval and choose not to re-sign him and Buddy Hield, they have a max contract which they can use this free agency before Hali’s extension kicks in.
Raptors: gets an improvement on PG in CJ McGollum, the Raptors need to do something before the deadline because their team is a mess. Siakam and OG (if he declines his player option which I assume he will) are both free agents and other than Scottie there isn’t a whole lot which is exciting about this team. This trade would allow them to get some assets for OG, and they could even trade away CJ to another team (I don’t know who would want him) and go blow up.
Thoughts? Don’t call me any slurs.
