I’d like some opinions on a good watch to get my husband. I’m looking to spend no more than $700. I was considering a Hamilton but the case size is concerning. 38mm fits him well he could probably handle up to a 40mm but a lot of the Hamilton I liked the look of (viewmatic, spirit of liberty) are even larger and I’ve read even the 40mm feel larger than they are. I’d love suggestions… on another thread someone recommended getting something vintage which I like the idea of. I saw the vintage seiko lord marvel and thought that could be nice but it’s smaller than what I think he normally gets.

I’ve attached his current collection. I’m replacing either the brown leather band one or the two tone… maybe even the silver bulova because it’s really bulky. Another thing to note is he only wears them for work— suit and tie kind of job— and going out for events, etc. so something dressier.

So cool that you’re supporting your husbands watch hobby! The Waterloo by Dufrane would be a nice choice. (https://www.dufranewatches.com/products/mechanical-dress-watch-waterloo). It’s a small microbrand company out of Austin, Texas. Great build quality for the price and customer service is amazing. Steven is the owner and builds the watches himself. I bet he’d be more than happy to help you pick out the perfect piece that matches your husband’s style. Best of luck!
