I’ve been thinking about starting a business online for some time. I’d like to sell unique art-based products (jewelry, furniture, clothing, art) created by various cultures around the world that need showcased.
My question is this: How? Do I buy wholesale and re-sell at an up charge? Give me your best advice.
If you’re willing to do the work of research and contact artists, you could always sell on consignment. You’d need good contracts, maybe offer deposits to hold inventory, but it relies on a lot of trust. Maybe act like a dropshipper and get them to deliver to the customers buying through your site directly - you do the marketing, and get a commission on sales.
