I’m up to around 40 at this point. I just love watches whether it’s $20 or $20,000. I don’t have anything over $1000 but eventually right. I’ve learned all the basic maintenance from crystal replacement, batteries, bands, etc. Its an addicting hobby. I scour marketplace and online for rare finds and good deals. I’m looking for recommendations for a quality high capacity box. This $20 box is garbage.

After 3 years collecting I have 12 in the box that get regular wrist time as well as 5 that are occasional wear pieces or are waiting to be repaired. I am like you and have watches that I paid between 100 and 500 for but I like them all and many have a special significance.

I got 11… I only started collecting a year ago… I haven’t got a box like yours, though. I don’t know what I would do with the original boxes they came with.

After about 3 years too, I went from 20ish in year 1 to 6 right now, including 1 inherited, 1 custom built, 1 modded gshock and 3 that I rotate. The more I get into this hobby, the more I think a small collection is better.

Seven right now, but I went a little nuts on AliEx 11.11 and ordered 7-10 more. I’m focusing on extremely cheap versions of various styles to figure out what I like wearing before I dive into better quality pieces.

No box yet, but I’m toying with the idea of building a pedestal and trees to display my collection instead of the traditional box.

38 and I love each one so much I agonize over spreading the wrist time. I still enjoy looking at them and touching those I don’t wear as often but there is always the dilemma of which one to wear and constantly re-assessing. I wonder if I’m the only one struggling with which one to wear.

    1. I love 1940s art deco watches , so most of my collection is Elgin’s, bulovas, wittnauers, etc. most valuable is a 1943 Zenith civilian military. I love that watçh. Relentlessly accurate and runs 24 hours or more on a single full wind.

I like your watches but I don’t understand why you have so many watches, if I were you I’d sell off a good amount and get a used Tudor BB or some other entry level luxury watch. But anyways, I love the collection it’s pretty diverse, usually in big collections there’s tons of copies but I think you did well.
