Trying to appeal to the other side while forgetting their own base like a parent giving all of its attention to the one child who constantly does mischief while the others feel left out.

I think we need to wait and see how things shake out. If she can demonstrate broad based support then why not run her.

Yeah. There’s a correlation vs causation problem here that I don’t really have the answers to.

Hillary was Hillary and didn’t take Trump seriously.
Kamala was run without much planning and forethought.
AOC might be a woman, and I take your point that may not be in her favor, but she has many virtues that may outweigh that disadvantage.
