It’s weird because his value has regressed immensely this season, partially due to him being an expiring, but what value and to who can he be traded to.
Last season i feel like the ideal trade was to the grizzlies for Tyus, Clarke and a pick but due to obvious reasons that’s not possible anymore
There just doesn’t seem to be a team that he can be traded to but what contender can take a flyer out on him??
A protected FRP is our best bet. DeMar is a very good player, but he’s not really a guy you can easily “add” to a team. Example: Alex Caruso could join any contender and immediately make them significantly better without disrupting the team’s identity. But DeMar is a #1 or #2 option. If you bring him on, you’re changing the team. So that’s a risk that most teams aren’t willing to take.
Because if you’re contending…then your team is already pretty damn good.
