Off-topic question, are there any pro photographers with diagnosis of autism? What kind of questions do you ask your clients in order to stage a photograph better?

    I’m gonna say yes, and start basic and funnel down from there, ie ‘do you want it brighter or darker, more focused or less focused’ and keep doing that until you have an idea of what they want.

    I masked for years until the mask became the routine. Like most social things for us, practice, practice, practice.

    Impossible to say for sure, but Winogrand probably was somewhere neurodivergent. There was definitely something there driving him beyond photography, to capture a scene with no clear plan on ever seeing the final image.
