Hey all!
This may be asked before so I apologize in advance. I’m planning to shift to Europe next year and was looking into digital nomad visas. I’m flexible with the primary residence but I want the DN VISA that lets me freely travel across Schengen countries.
Can anyone suggest which VISA should I apply for? couldn’t find any concrete details on this.
Can anyone suggest which VISA should I be applying for?
Thanks in advance.
No DN visas let you freely travel across Schengen. They let you stay and work in that country. 90/180 still counts for other Schengen countries.
Could you elaborate this?
There are no current digital nomad visas that allows you to travel freely around the Schengen zone. You get to live in the country for which you have a visa, not any EU country. You abide by the same 90/180 rules as most other Schengen visitors.
You lost the “freely travel the EU” lottery the second your presumably non-EU dad spunked into your presumably non-EU mother. Your only solution for what you want is to become a naturalized EU citizen.
Yeah my understanding is that digital nomad visas let you stay in the country that issued it only. For the rest of Schengen you get 90 days. If anyone could travel with a temporary visa there would be no reason to seek citizenship.
As far as which one, I would avoid Portugal since it seems like Portugal is getting very crowded with expats. I have heard that Greece is one of the easiest ones to get.
I don’t understand. Do I get 90 days to visit other countries? Do I need a separate VISA for that?
Yes. You get 90 days out of every 180 to visit other Schengen countries. Do you need a visa? Depends on what passport you’re holding.
This helps, thank you!
If you meet income requirements, can tolerate island life in a humid climate, and don’t worry about tax gimmicks, Malta has one of the simplest and most straightforward DN residence permits.
Hey! The conversation here in general caught my eye! 🌟 We’re hosting a LinkedIn webinar on Portugal’s NHR tax regime this Saturday, and I believe your perspective would add immense value to the discussion. 🚀
