A few years ago, my brother (55 diagnosed terminally ill) and several other people in my life died.
During the covid craze (not from covid). So, i decided to rearchitect my life, because it really left me feeling that my time here is unpredictable.
Since then, i have travelled about 20,000 miles in other countries… and have come to love travel photography. we all need to find something to do… I dont have a boat, i dont like to fish, I dont work on cars. I dont have any kids. I dont have any pets. This s really all that I like to do. I dont feel my interests are any better than anyone else. It is just what i enjoy.

I had no real experience with photography before (other than photographing houses as a realtor). I bought a sony a6500 as i heard it was a good travel cam and i recently upgraded to an iphone 14. I have no actual training.
People tell me I have a good eye and the couple pics i posted in ITAP got over 1000 likes. it is not really me , it is that i have a passion and eye for beautiful places.
I probably took 10,000 pictures in the last 14 months… It is just becoming part of who i am…
the question now is… what do i do with these? i dont have instagram… ok i can start there…
Should i try to watermark or protect my images in some way? any other ideas? Blog?
I am not trying to make any fortune…but it also might be nice if there was some way of benefiting from my travels which come at considerable expense…

I need to get better at bringing a tripod and getting clearer pics. I need to learn how to use my camera better (not just shooting on auto), i neeed to learn about filters and lenses… I dont really do any post editng… so that would be good… But , i wont let the photography particulars ruin the trip. I accomodate it aroud and within the trip.
But, any idea what to do with a thousand photos from the most beautiful places in the world? not at crazy high quality…but some many are of gorgeous places… / sights

I’ve traveled all over the world and taken photos. My photos are awesome. That being said, most are awesome because of the location, not me.

I share with friends the best of the best (100ish from a 2 week trip) and i print out 2-4 from each trip as 8x10s and hang them on a travel wall.

But, good travel photography- like making money from it- is so much more than doing a cool trip and taking awesome photos. I took a great photo of the Trevi fountain in rome. But I’m off axis because of people and crowds. Getting that photo with no one there is impossible without blocking it off, etc.
