Thought this was interesting, here’s the original thread
https://np.reddit.com/r/nba/comments/10m8h0b/trae_young_was_voted_12th_among_east_guards_in/
Notable things:
-
he was only 12th in player votes in the East
-
He receives LESS player votes than he has teammates. Aka some teammates didn’t vote for him
Do you think the sentiment around him will change this season? In what way?
I can’t hate Trae young he’s like a regular person out there. I’ve got respect for any short dude that can come in the league and ball out ( not Chris Paul)
No D
What a dumb thread. Just posting old news to hate on someone. Must be a Knicks fan.
He was rumored to be a big reason natw McMillan was fired.
That’ll do it.
He doesn’t seem fun to play with
He is if you’re a rim runner or spot up shooter. Bogi and Capela definitely like him
JJ loves him, DJM said Trae is the reason he wanted to come to Atlanta, this narrative is old and was always bullshit
POV: Your balding, short teammate takes all your touches and leads you to a first round exit in the playoffs
Not like anybody else on that roster does any better
Who likes him? I don’t.
I like him. Relatively fun player to watch. I also just don’t care about foul baiting as much as other people because I’ll do other things while I watch the game.
Aka you don’t watch the game.
I’m sure you also are in favor of the second challenge
Lol he came In saying he likes trae young and you attack him. Someone’s a little defensive.
Ya it isn’t the same.
i like him. its fun watching (comparatively) tiny players do well in the nba.
Most unlikeable All-Star caliber player, and that’s even before you get into his heel antics (which I actually like).
Man is a dime thrower with a Steph curry shooting clip. Constantly outperforms his competition. He gets better in the playoffs. He likes to play the villain role often, so ofc he’s gonna have haters tryna snub him out the ASG.
He likes to shoot like he’s Curry. The question is can he make them like Curry. And the answer is no…
Team loyalty isn’t necessarily as strong in the NBA where a player can look at the other guards in the East and won’t be like “I’m voting for Kyrie or DeMar, love those guys” instead of voting for their teammate. It’s an interesting point but there’s a lot of noise here given all the cross team friendships and reputational effects.
How long before y’all start buying his bath water to get clout?
