I feel like buying a Rolex as your first watch is like buying a Lambo as your first car. Unpopular take?

Did you drool on the bottom of the watch or don’t I want to know?

Also, congratulations on your watch that is neither gaudy/trashy nor ridiculous in dial size. Really an excellent choice. Look forward to seeing more from you if you choose not to stop here!

Out of curiosity, did you turn to the grey market to get this? Given that this is your first watch I’m assuming you don’t have a relationship with an AD, but then again, you say you’re on a waitlist for the root beer. Asking cus I’m interested in the mint green fluted dj but not interested in waiting 3 years for it lol

No this was from an AD, Hing Wa Lee Jewelers here in San Gabriel valley. I put myself on the waitlist for:

      Submariner

      No-date Sub

      DJ41 in blue and green

They called me on the Sub but I turned them down when I got there, the normal black dial I thought I was going to love. But after sleeping on it I decided to pass on the piece because it just doesn’t feel unique to me. If they had called me on a No Date Sub I probably would have bought that over the DJ. By the time they called me on the No Date I already bought the DJ and I wanted to pace myself at no more than one a year.
