We always talk about the worst commentators (warriors), but what team is the most enjoyable for non-homers? I’ve personally enjoyed both Spurs and Mavs crew as a Raptor fan

I’m surprised how far I’ve gone without seeing the guy from the Hornets. He gets genuinely excited at good plays no matter what!

Pelicans crew is my favorite, Kings are also really good. Both call the game thru their own team’s lense but give plenty of props to whoever they’re playing. Most importantly though they both have great chemistry together and are excited to break down the strategy of the game in an engaging way

I don’t watch a tonne of blazers ball, but I appreciated the their commentators’ banter today while they were down

Celtics legend, and Basketball Hall of Fame honoree, Mike Gorman is retiring after 42 years of service. He is only doing Celtic home games this season.

For the first 39 seasons of Gorman’s career, he was paired with one of the biggest homers in TV broadcast history, Tommy Heinsohn (RIP). Gorman was consistently lauded for his professionalism and neutrality while sitting next to Tommy.

If you have a chance, enjoy Mike Gorman one more time. He’s outstanding and a GREAT listen for neutral fans. Total pro.

I like the blazers broadcasts on root sports. They’re really smart guys and have a lot of interesting stuff to say about the team

Shout out to the Wolves, Pelicans, Knicks, Nets and Lakers broadcasts, and though I might be a little biased I’d like to think I’m being pretty fair when I say the Rockets’ current guys are quite good at being fair to both teams, giving praise and hype freely while also openly acknowledging when the Rockets benefit from bad calls or get away with things. Old duo were definitely huge homers though lmao.

An additional shout out to Eric Collins, the Hornets PBP guy (good golly miss molly, hum diddly dee, you know who I’m talking about). Not only is he great for hype moments on both sides, I appreciate him being very, very obviously frustrated and disappointed with the Hornets’ decision to bring back Miles Bridges based on how he sounded while calling Bridges’ first game back. Obviously he can’t just blast the org without being quickly removed from his position but he was not afraid to toe the line as closely as possible. Good man.

The Knicks and Nets have great commentary teams.

I don’t get to hear it much since MSG and YES are locked out of league pass and I refuse to pay for the package.
