My Dad recently found local connections that are selling “scratch and dent” models of appliances that I can get for around 30-40% retail value depending on quantity. The goal would be to sell them for up to 80% retail.

First set of questions: My Dad has land rented out for his own business, I could store a shipping container on the property, and that’s where i’d store my initial inventory. Is that enough? Or Is it worth renting out a space right at the beginning? I haven’t gotten quotes yet so I can’t give context on what my starting inventory might look like.

Next question, where to sell? I’m pretty sure the best starting point will be facebook marketplace. Read below for more context on my area.

Last question: Delivery, I have access to trucks and trailers so delivery can be offered as well. How should I go about that?

Context: I’m 20 years old, in college. HCOL area in Ontario, Canada. There are tons of international students in my area every year. There’s a big rental/condo market in the area as well.

Lastly, My school year finishes May 1st and I start my final year next September. Would it be wise to do a “trial run” during the 4 months i’m off school? Or is this something I can do part time?
