Hello everyone, I am very new to the audio world and recently decided to purchase a Fiio K3 for my HD560S headphones. Is the stock 3.5mm headphone cable okay to use in this setup? I noticed some people mentioning a 2.5mm cable. Just wondering if the stock headphones and K3 will be all I need for the setup. Do I need to purchase anything else?

The 2.5mm connector is for the balanced output, which may be useful for hard-to-drive headphones, but probably not the HD560s.

K3 will have more than enough power to drive HD560s with single ended output (3.5mm jack). You don’t need anything else.

I purchased a balanced cable for my 560’s, I felt the volume was too low specifically for gaming after I applied EQ (-8db preamp) so the balanced cable helped a lot in getting the volume back to enjoyable levels.

Get the balanced cable. 3.5mm won’t drive the 560 with authority, you’ll get decent sound but it’ll still seem thinner than if you went balanced. You’ll appreciate the extra power.
