Saw this Oris Aquis Date Calibre 400-2 41.5 bicolor watch in a local jewelry shop some months ago and it instantly caught my attention as green is my favorite color and I really love this combination. Turned out it was one of the most expensive watches in the shop (around $4,700). Previously I’ve only owned cheap fashion brands like Fossil or Armani, and I didn’t even know the difference between a quartz and a mechanical watch. And there was no way I would spend that much on a watch even if I could’ve. However, every time I was passing that store, I would glance at it in awe. Joined this subreddit, started reading about mechanical watches, diver watches, Oris, etc.

Long story short, recently celebrated an important milestone in my life which also corresponded with a Black Friday discount of 30% on this watch so it had to be done. Also, as soon as I purchased it, I got the extended 10-year warranty email from @oris.ch.

I know taste is subjective and this type of watch might not be everyone’s first choice, or there might be better brands to choose from in this budget, but I really like it and plan on keeping it forever as it’s my first ever “real” watch.

Pretty solid deal, buying from AD at prices that rival the grey market.
I would recommend one of the two rubber quick change straps that Oris makes that fit this watch - it’s one of the few that looks better off bracelet.
Now they don’t come cheap, over 300 bucks for the rubber alone, but they can be swapped in seconds and it completely changes the look/feel of the watch. Especially if you go for the light blue strap that comes standard on the sister watch the 75FC.
