Hi,

Wondering how many of you will go back and forth on an idea you have (business or product) and one day think its a great idea and start working towards building it out… then a short time later be discouraged and think its stupid… then after a little time passes you’re back to thinking its a great idea.

is this normal? how do you deal with this?

I’ve always been told to “just do it”… just execute on your idea and continue to build it. Ideas are never perfect… but its difficult when i get in a low spot and think its useless endeavor

Forget all that. Ask yourself what you’d work on if money didn’t matter and it was the only thing you’d want to do the rest of your life. Do that. Forget margins, forget scale, forget market size. Pursue whatever that is and you’ll find what you’re looking for.

I think you need to validate your idea first by talking to the customers. It’s really hard to know whether it’s a great idea or not by just thinking about it. That said, sometimes, it’s really hard to get people’s attentions these days. So you probably need to build some sort of PoC to demo to your ICP.

It’s completely normal to oscillate between confidence and doubt when working on a new business or product idea, as this is part of the creative process where your mind assesses different aspects and potential outcomes. To manage this, focus on setting small, achievable goals and seeking feedback from trusted sources, which can provide both motivation and valuable insights to guide your progress. Perseverance and adaptability are key in turning ideas into successful ventures. Read more here https://www.cuppa.so/post/turning-your-big-idea-into-a-reality

It’s either a unicorn in embryo form or it is not. If the latter discard and move on.
