I’ve been collecting for almost exactly a year now, so I figured I’d share my collection here. The Tag and the Nixon in the back were my dads until they broke(Tag)/stopped working(Nixon) I got both working again and now I just keep them on display. It’s been an amazing year but now that my box is full I think I’m gonna put collecting on hold for a little while🥴.

I have that Orient Kamasu diver. Already looking to level it up with a super sea wolf Zodiac, Tag aquaracer, Certina DS Action Diver , a CW C65 Aquitaine Bronze, or just say F it and save a little bit and get my grail diver an Omega seamaster and not worry about upgrading again.

One thing I did when I started I wish I didn’t, was buy up a crap load of these ~$500 watches that are just…not very good. I didn’t know what I liked, what to look for and just made mistakes that I paid for when I took losses selling them all off on FB marketplace. I had 8 watches, now I only have that Kamasu, Seiko Dolce, and a Sinn 556 that I bought from selling all the junk off.

I think you’re right, and I’ve been told the same thing by other watch enthusiasts but really I wear watches as a way to express myself, as of right now I’m not in the market for any chronometer certified or very mechanically advanced watches. If I see a Casio and think, wow that’s a beautiful watch” then I know it’s right for me, and I know that even the biggest watch collectors still have a little love in their hearts for a seiko 5 so I feel pride in my collection so far because they do a great job of representing me and who I am

The Grand Carrera is beautiful! I’ve been considering getting one if I can find a good example for a good price.

I’m a firm believer every watch collector should have a Seiko and a citizen, so you’re on the right track. Wearing my Seiko 5 now as I type

Honestly , I love where you’re at. As a 40yr old who collects you have a a good eye at 17. Higher seiko guy when I was your age. Keep on keeping on

It’s been amazingly reliable, I’ve had it for a long while and I’ve worn in it many situations, only issue is you should probably ditch the original strap it came with

I had a long hard discussion with myself to either go with that or Citizen bn0201-88L. And I went with Citizen, but Casio being cheap, reliable, solar and it has day/date function…those are the points that kind of swayed me back and forth.

Congrats. Loved the selection, you have an option for almost any scenario. I would just add a g-shock so you can have a rugged watch
