The Orlando Magic are off to a great start as they have doubled their win total in their first 15 games when compared to their record through 25 games just a season ago.
Good to see, hope they can keep it up and get some playoff experience
Oh so after deciding to be good only against the Celtics last year, they figured out they could just do it against everyone this year. Well, that’s nice.
Adam silver better flex them some national games
They’ve gotta be the deepest team in the league how well their whole team is playing
without our starting PG and C at that
They are looking like they might even exceed play in expectations. That’s always the goal for tanking teams the following season, and they are smashing it.
The entire city of Boston shaking in its collective boots (also New Orleans, they always kill us too)
Wolves, Magic, Thunder. I love this timeline.
damn my season predictions are gonna get crushed by Orlando. I figured they had another season or so to be good.
Wins against the likes of the Lakers, Bucks and now Nugs? They might be cooking up something…
Fun team. They have a realistic chance to win the Southeast division.
It was just me bruh and i was playing they can easily do it 😂
Summary: Very good at Losing, Not so good at Winning.
This team is ready. I truly believe it. I have said it for years the Magic just need to make little changes. The Nuggets game was just a great game, these guys came to play. This team is a playoff team, and nothing can convince me otherwise. I watched a youtube video today in which the guy was pointing out top 5 players that are shocking the NBA and he did not put a single Magic player. It was Maxxey, Hali, Cam, Sengun, and Scottie, a good list but really no Magic player. The Magic who absolutely destroyed every single one of those guys team(except the Nets) and those players individually (except Maxey and Cam who the Magic never met). Haliburton had 12pts and -30+/- in a 12pt loss to Orl (was 40 point deficit at some point but Magic let 3rd stringers bring it back during garbage time), Sengun had 14pts and -2 +/- in a 30 pt loss to Orl, Scottie had 14pts and -22 +/- in a 19pt loss to ORL (Magic firmly had a 20- 30 pt lead most of the game but they let the 3rd stringers come in at the end). No mention of Paolo, JI or Suggs all pivotal reasons for the Magic surging. All these young stars the media pushing are nothing to the young Magic team with their own rarely talked about stars, and today it showed its not just young teams the Magic can beat they are able to beat teams who already should know themselves and have a system and specifically in Denver’s case is a championship team and is the current reigning championship team.
The Magic is the #1 ranked defense in the league, they are blowing teams out the water, they are clearly a team that can go far if nothing drastic happens with this trajectory. Its honestly so weird to me how the Magic are still getting discounted at this point. Best defense in league, best young duo/trio in the league. I think this win changes everything. The media would need to acknowledge the Magic. No more ESPN ranking the Magic 17, no more weird player models somehow saying that Paolo, Franz and Suggs are all middle tier players and Scottie is top19. Hopefully no more weird discussions about the Magic young players being great as a collective but I am taking (whoever has a good game) over guys who have been doing it on THEIR OWN teams as non-All stars/all nba players (at least as of yet since Paolo is clearly playing like a top 12 player).
This is a huge win for them on the 5 win streak, being 100 percent serious. I dont know if any of yall noticed it but the rise in “advance stats/models” that somehow discounted the Magic in the last 2 weeks is pretty ridiculous. I honestly believe the refs got a call also to officiate this game “tough” which just means refusing to call any fouls for blatant hits on Magic guys and make sure Jokic stays in. There were pretty much all big sports outlets ranking Magic as 14 and under except SI. There were the Strength of Schedule list that apparently said the Magic wins vs teams (currently also on upward trajectories)as flukes and the Magic apparently having one of the easiest SOS (again trying to discount record). There were all the media push for Chet/Scottie/Sengun as future superstars and even current AS. While no mention again of any Magic player. Well I think this win, shoves it right to their faces and I cant wait to see the fallout. Even if this team losses to Boston, there is a top 5 in the East and the Magic is a part of it, and then a gap after that with the next teams. Magic should be in a 4 way tie for 2nd. This is a huge win and should instill alot of confidence to fans and sincere media folk on giving the Magic positive press.
I was so wrong on Joe, perfect vet, and perfect matching skillset. Guy really fits. He is an approachable vet, that rises to the level of intensity and wants to win and help his young guys get better. He was a steal at this point if this continues. Skillwise, personality wise, and is synergistic with the coach, I have seen and Mose a few times looking like buds chatting. A few times he was the one sent to help coach a young guy also. Mose found a backup in a player and I think Joe is doing it fantastically while still being useful so there are no skill issues or issues with his usefulness.
Bench unit was great, starters also great, Suggs All NBA defense/most improved, Paolo AS, Franz MIP, Cole for 6th man and Mose coach of the year, maybe all not achievable but I definitely think all of these will have Magic players in the running by award time. This team is complete in my eyes, I have been saying it before and will always say it, Wendell is not a center and I personally think AB fits similar to Markelle but AB playstyle is a more synergistic and cohesive fit. Once this team brings back Mo its over for the league. AB is a rim crasher, low usage guard, that can switch on 1-3 and sometimes hold his own on 4/5s and is a ball hawk, great help defender, high energy, and tall and a great connector. He is a rookie for sure, he needs to work on his execution on passes (good ideas and iq but always a bit off on it), work on his offense, work on his mood swings from play, work on getting to the line but I believe in him. He is a competitor, he is a hard worker, and he takes every game to heart. Him and Suggs are a duo that I feel many teams will envy very very soon.
Mosley is improving he has been making great adjustments, have found his coaching stride now. For 3 games in a row I do not believe he was outcoached, and I haven’t said fire Mosley. The guy has found his group, has found knowledge on how to utilize his group, and is executing. He still has problems with calling timeouts, and drawing out plays but he is a developing coach that I can finally say I see promise in. He is looking like a good coach, and if this trajectory continues I do believe he will be more notable in the NBA coaching hierarchy.
I am fully convinced of this team as is, and I do not want Markelle and Wendell to rejoin the starting lineup. It feel likes a Jameer back over Alston situation. This is a working group and it fits. There are hiccups but it works so dont mess with it. Its going to be a hard call. This team is playoff bound, I think they are nightmare situation for any team even if they aren’t the #1 seed. I do think this defense is real despite all those outlets trying to discount it, I do believe the Magic are real and I do believe they have arrived and are here.
No Jamal Murray
Their young core is legit. I’m here for the Suggs & Mo Wagner movement
They’ve been better since Wendell Carter and Fultz went out, not sure if that means anything or just coincidence.
