I know this may seem like a dumb question but the reason I’m asking is because no player besides Lebron in the last 25 years has won more than 3 mvps and the only ones besides him are MJ, Magic, Bird, and Hakeem so if Jokic wins another MVP does he automatically slot into a top 10 player oat slot?
No. Nobody in the top10 has less than 3 rings
Not yet but I’d say it’s one of the hurdles. Hit 3+ MVPs, at least 2 rings, and what, 8+ more years of elite play?
He needs at least another ring - nobody in the consensus top 10-12 has less than 2. Another ring + 3-4 more all star appearances for longevity would still just put him near or outside the top 12. 2 more rings + 3-4 more all stars would cement top 10. Even just 2 more rings and 1-2 more all stars wouldn’t cut it - almost everyone in the top 10-12 has 10x all stars.
SMH at the Moses Malone disrespect
Needs 5 more all NBA, 5more all-star, another ring and another MVP or finals mvp
In order to be in to top ten you have to knock someone out. Good luck. kobe is barely in the top ten
Tbh I don’t consider players like Russell or Wilt top 10 so I think he would fit in pretty well
Well he’s not better than shaq or Duncan at this point
There isn’t one player in the top 10 with only 1 ring
I agree which is weird why he’s being considered the front runner for this years mvp
Needs rings more than MVPs tbh. 2 more rings and we have a conversation. Especially since most people think he should have 3 MVPs and the talent in the league make MVP harder to get than ever.
But yeah throw in another MVP for sake. 3 chips and 3 MVPs. Only 6 players have done that.
Shaq has 1 MVP to his name and he was the best player in the world for a 3peat. MVPs are a terrible way to judge players all time.
Stop letting your opinion of players be based on the judgment of 50 random sports writers that don’t even watch the games.
I agree that top 10 players don’t need 3 mvps what my point was that there haven’t been any players with 3 mvps who weren’t top 10 players so with Jokic being favored this year to win his 3rd mvp, I don’t think it’s unreasonable to assume he’ll be a top 10 player
They aren’t top 10 players because they’re MVPs though. You’re looking at the greatest players of all time, trying to find something they have in common, and then trying to say that any player that has also achieved those things should also be among the greatest players of all time. You’re doing it wrong.
