Hey everyone,

First and foremost, Happy Thanksgiving! I’m sure life has been stressful for many of you recently, I know it has been for me. However, there is so much to be grateful for. Personally, I am grateful for the opportunities that I have and for the cards I have been dealt. Many people have it worse than me, so I appreciate everything that I have been blessed with.

That being said, I want to share with you a short story about myself. About 3 years ago, I started my self-improvement journey which changed my life forever.

To provide some backstory, during the peak of covid, and throughout the majority of high school, I had been addicted to gaming. I would spend about 6 hrs average per day on the computer or in front of a television screen. During this time, I had very low self-esteem, confidence, and overall lack of motivation; I was in a perpetual state of uncertainty.

Then, one day, I was scrolling on YouTube and I found a video introducing me to the concept of self-improvement. At that moment, I decided that I would take the steps to transform my life. I started to go to the gym, going from a 5’10 150 lb lightweight, to now a 6’1 200 lb heavyweight.
Today, I am here, happy having made the best decision of my life. My goal now is to provide the same utility to others who were in a similar position as me, and to help them transform their life as I did mine.

That is why, I am starting a community called “GamerFit”. The goal of this community is to encourage gamers, like myself, to pursue a healthier lifestyle and strive to become the best version of themselves. I recognize the passion and dedication that gamers bring to their virtual worlds, and I believe that this same drive can be harnessed to transform their lives in real world as well.
My mission is to help gamers transition from a gaming lifestyle to a gaming hobby, helping gamers foster a healthier and more fulfilling relationship with gaming.

If this is something that interests you and would like to help me expand, I am currently developing a Discord server that is centered around this community. Keep in mind, the server is still in early development and has many areas in which it can improve. However, I would love it if you would stop by and help me grow this server into something special. Also, any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

I’ve included a link to the server below, so feel free to stop by and say hello.

I hope to see you there :)

All the best,

swreborn

Yoooo. I almost pulled the trigger on literally this exact business (even same name) a few months ago, but ultimately getting married took too much time, and now I’m going in a different direction.

No idea if it’s viable even because I didn’t go into the research and client interview phases of getting this, but I dig it.

After spending numerous hours doing competitor analysis, market research and consulting with University professors, the potential for this business model is seemingly endless. The business model has been done before, so the concept is proven to be effective, and I am working on ways to differentiate the server from others out there, such as adding tribes and multiplayer elements to add competition. The best part is that the community serves as your customer base, working with them to create valuable products that they might be looking for.

Try offering help to high school students in a real-world environment and spend a few hours a week or more helping them for free to improve their lives as well. At the end, get some real-world feedback as you observe your students and how they have improved. That’s a good way to track progress and see with your own eyes if it’s a viable solution for others. Maybe ask them at the end if and how much they would pay for a subscription or class that you can create. Good luck

Yes this. Get real world experience working with your target market. They’ll give you brutally honest feedback.

A mere 6 hours per day counts as an addiction in your book? I think I need to be committed to a gaming rehab centre…

It’s great that you’re building a community to foster healthier habits, but i fail to see how this will be a profitable business for you. Could you humor me and explain?

The end goal is to develop the Discord community to a point to where I can use them as my starting customer base for releasing valuable products that will assist them on their self-improvement journey. I could offer premium content within the discord itself, I could offer gamified courses and educational resources, supplements, ebooks, and so on. Initially, the focus of the server is fitness, but I want to expand it to other areas in the future, such as mental health, fashion, and finance. I can continue to create products related to these topics, expanding and diversifying my offerings over time.

It’s fantastic that you’re passionate about helping gamers improve their lives and create a healthier balance between gaming and real-world activities. Here are some suggestions to help you develop and expand your GamerFit community:
    Define Your Mission and Values:
Clearly articulate the mission and values of GamerFit. What principles will guide your community? What specific outcomes or transformations do you hope to achieve for your members?
    Content Creation:
Develop content that resonates with gamers and addresses the challenges they may face. This could include blog posts, videos, or podcasts covering topics like physical fitness routines, mental health tips, and success stories from members of your community.
    Discord Community Development:
Build a welcoming and supportive environment on your Discord server. Create channels for different aspects of self-improvement, such as fitness, nutrition, mental well-being, and gaming tips. Encourage open communication and collaboration.
    Engagement Activities:
Organize regular events and challenges within the community to keep members engaged. This could include fitness challenges, book clubs, or gaming tournaments that align with the community’s goals.
    Partnerships and Collaborations:
Explore partnerships with fitness trainers, mental health professionals, or other influencers who align with your mission. Collaborations can bring diverse expertise and perspectives to your community.
    Feedback Loop:
Actively seek feedback from your community members about their needs, preferences, and suggestions for improvement. This will help you tailor the community to better serve their interests.
    Promote Success Stories:
Share success stories from members who have made positive changes in their lives. Highlighting real-world transformations within the gaming community can inspire others to take similar steps.
    Educational Resources:
Provide resources and guides related to self-improvement, fitness, nutrition, and mental well-being. These resources can serve as reference materials for community members looking to make positive changes.
    Social Media Presence:
Utilize social media platforms to promote GamerFit and connect with a broader audience. Share relevant content, engage with your community, and use platforms like Instagram, Twitter, and TikTok to showcase the community’s activities.
    Community Moderation:
Establish clear guidelines for community behavior and appoint moderators to ensure a positive and inclusive environment. This will help foster a sense of safety and support within the community.
    Monetization Strategies:
Consider potential monetization strategies to sustain and grow GamerFit. This could include partnerships, premium content or features, and merchandise

Thank you Fit-Lawfulness9332, I appreciate the support! My goal right now is to bring in as many people to the server as people and to start refining it from there. That way, with the communities feedback, I can form it into something people truly find value in.
