So I just took this image a few minutes ago and oh boy this is so noisy I don’t even want to look at it. I took it with my R10 at a 3200 ISO, 1/1000 shutter speed and f/8. I know the R10 is probably not the best low-light camera but I didnt expect it to be that bad. I must be doing something wrong. I saw a video on Youtube by some guy showing the camera’s low-light capabilities and there was no noise at ISO 6400 (unprocessed image).

Oh it’s a bird! Those settings make sense then.

My crusty old brain sees that grain level as acceptable and normal. I’ve seen enough film to just expect it. It should take pretty well to noise reduction though if you feel the need to remove some fizz.
