Mike Brown is straight up dumb…He has the Motherf*cking MVP OF THE EUROLEAGUE - Sasha Vezenkov - in his team. And now he is not using him AT ALL??? He didn’t even gave him a lot time to play when half of the team was injured was injured…

Iam sooooooo happy that Vezenkov will be traded to the Chicago Bulls/Toronto Raptors soon. And I just hope that the Chicago/Raptors coach IS NOT BLINDFOLDED and can actually see how useful Sasha Vezenkov is if you just pass him the ball. Vezenkov literally scored 703 points in the 2022-23 Euroleague, he is not someone who should watch from the bench :D

Sergio Rodriguez was EuroLeague MVP in 2013-14, came back to the NBA the following season and proceeded to put up 8 ppg and 5 assists on 40% FG% and 67% FT% on 22 minutes per game.

Vasilije Micić was EuroLeague MVP in 2020-21, is currently putting up 3ppg on 37.5% FG% and 67% FT% for OKC on 12mpg.

Go from best to one of the guys you lose all your mental momentum.

If you win an Euro MVP, team has to build around you, and not be satisfied to be a roleplayer.

If you lose the i am the best mentality, you will be a shadow of yourself. Seen it with some of the best players in the world playing alongside Messi in Soccer.

To name a few. Henry, Coutinho, Griezzmann, Gomes, Song etc etc

That’s not really fair, there are a lot of nations in Europe getting into bball from a very young age.

That doesn’t really exist for US/football(soccer)

Liability on defense, thats why he doesn’t play a lot of minutes.
He will never be more than 10-15-20 minutes scorer off the bench and I am also Bulgarian.
You just gotta take your patriot glasses off and realize this isn’t the Bulgarian men’s team where he is playing with literal scrubs.

Vezenkov hasn’t exactly been demanding more minutes and touches with his play so far.

    .554 TS% on 17.2 USG%, 10.4 PER, .052 WS/48, -3.4 BPM, -0.1 VORP.

So if he’s at middling efficiency and effectiveness on limited minutes and touches, what incentive is there to give him more minutes and touches?

I know people like to think that being the Euroleague MVP means a player must be a superstar-in-waiting at/around the same level as Luka, who should just be given the keys to a team and allowed to “cook”, because it has worked in another competition on the other side of the world, but it simply doesn’t work that way.

Lazy comparison. Sasha has a more diverse skillset and is a better shooter.
