I used to watch a lot of Cavs games during LeBron’s last run there, and they were some of the more entertaining and generally fun duo to listen to. This was during the era of that guy that used to say “Slam that hamma down!!”. Loved that dude!
Today, I started watching the Cavs-Lakers game, and holy shit the new guy is obnoxiously biased that it was difficult to watch the game. The dude was whining and calling obvious fouls “that’s a bad call” or “to me that’s a no call”. Lol, the most ridiculous part is when the dude said that LeBron gets a lot of touch fouls LOL.
Is that guy new or something?
And where is the other dude (hamma down guy)? He was such a blast to listen to.
No, he’s not new. You new to watching games?
Fred McLeod died
I remember they have a guy that laughs a lot. Is he still there ?
OP just THREW THA HAMMA DOWN! on the Cavs announcers
That’s Brad Daugherty (former player and current cavs legend), he and Austin Carr sometimes do color together and sometimes they switch off. Brad imo is one of the best color commentators He’s not very biased and remains positive and gives good praise to everyone; on the cavs or not.
Two things:
-
Fred McLeod died (John Michael is a great announcers in his own right, but no one really compared to Fred).
-
Austin Carr hasn’t been doing color commentary as much anymore. Additionally, he is not quite as sharp as he used to be, and although him and John get along well, Carr and Fred really had a great bond.
-
Man they stopped themselves from criticising lebron on several occasions, even when it was warranted. Lebron was bailed out with some very soft foul calls today as well. He would’ve had an even worse shooting day if they’d been no calls like they should’ve been.
Miss the days of Fred and AC 😔
Even before the new guy, there were known to be homers. Not as bad the as the insufferable warriors announcers though. They’re the fucking worst.
Yeah Fred McLeod and Austin Carr were a joy to listen to. Unfortunately, Fred has already passed away.
