Don’t fall for the influencer tribalism gear trap. The majority of big YouTubers get paid/sponsored to use a certain brand. Nikon is perfectly fine nowadays. The reason they still get some ‘hate’ is because they were a bit late to the mirrorless-party. And they just don’t work/advertise a lot with content creators like the other brands do.

Whether you buy an 2000$ Nikon or 2000$ Canon/Sony, they will all have somewhat of the same features and can achieve the same results. All brands are somewhat on the same level because they are all still around and competing with eachother.

That said. I’d look into getting a beginner model Canon/Nikon, combined with a kit lens or the likes. I wouldn’t invest too much as your first piece of gear, because perhaps you won’t like photography as much after using a camera compared to a phone, as they are vastly different.
