Hey everyone,

Need advice.

I wanted to upgrade to a Premium watch and I fell in love with the Seiko Presage cocktail series and Tissot coutourier and Gentleman series of Automatics.

However most of these watch have a Dial size of 38-40mm.

I have a wrist diameter of 7 inches so 39mm dials feels a bit small on my wrist.

All my life I have worn watches that are 42-44 mm

Is it the norm for dress warches to be this small?

Will a 39mm dial look good on my wrist size?

Heck yeah a 38, 39 or 40mm watch will look good on your wrist! You might not be used to it now but trust me they are extremely valid sizes - arguably even better looking and more confortable as well. I have a 6,75inch wrist and I usually wear a 34mm watch and I don’t think it’s too small. Just try them on and you will be positively surprised 👍 (Btw I’m 22. So I’m not somebody who gre up with wearing 34mm watches. Myfirst watch was a 42mm chronograph lol. But that 34 really does it for me! I honestly just think that my 42 looks tacky and too big).

Dial size needs to be considered in the context of case size, watch design, and the kind of look you want. Dress watches are generally smaller because they need to be discreet, and all-dial designs are generally smaller because they wear larger than their dimensions would suggest.
