how do people feel about the idea of point differential contributing to regular season standings?
i know a lot of people complain about the “unwritten rule” stuff (disrespectful to score at the end of a game when it’s already decided)
the in-season tournament uses point differential to determine standings as well as W/L. a lot of sports do this for the regular season as well, like AFL.
is it even necessary since there’s already 82 games? (afl has 23 games)
would it incentivise teams to play harder and try to avoid blowouts? (not pulling all the stars halfway thru the 3rd q)
will it cause injuries? (d rose 9/11 ptsd)
It does. It’s like the fifth tiebreaker.
I feel like most fans have hated the ‘unwritten rule’ nonsense for a while now. It’s just a handful of players that still get in their feelings about it
