Hey everyone…
We have an e-com company and someone allegedly purposefully damaged their product in order to get a new free one. When they asked for more free product to use on the channel and we said no, they ended up leaving a review about how we rudely told them they can’t have free product.
Anyway, someone texted us a warning that she is a scammer (no idea who).
My partner blocked her from IG but it’s added fuel to the fire and now there is mini drama in our review section.
What the heck do you do in these situations? Do you ignore them? I kind of wish we didn’t block her from IG because it seemed to add to her salt level.
Few layers to this.
With enough time, any scammers that purposely damage goods will be a few drops in the bucket. Once you have a large amount of followers that back you as being reputable they’ll drown out the outliers.
I can’t remember a time we ever said no to a replacement. Some people won’t stop. It’s often easier to just say “no worries, here’s your replacement” and eat the cost and send them on their way. We factor in a smalllll amount of returns for this reason. It’s the cost of doing business. If it were to ever happen a third time we wouldn’t refund them but it has never lead there before.
You never know, it could have been an accident. Don’t stress it.
if it was an influencer you sent out an item to, just means you have to better qualify who you work with
