Just what this country needs another billionaire in power. I can’t wait for the sweeping changes in the material conditions for the working class “nice” guy cuban might propose.

I guess we are just removing the middle man now and giving the keys right to those who’ve been paying our politicians off rather than putting systems in place to stop the corruption and purchasing of our democracy. But I forgot…money is the only virtue in America it seems.

That was my first thought. Didn’t he mention something during the last presidential cycle about it? Like, not now, or timing didn’t work out (with ballot qualifications I assume), or something like that?

As badly as I want someone to oust Greg Abbott, Mark Cuban has no chance in Texas because he is on the record saying that gun laws should be reformed due to mass shootings. Beto was the most popular non-R candidate we’ve had in years and he lost in a landslide for making similar statements.

Hopefully if he’s serious he goes for Governor or something first rather than straight to President since that won’t likely work and then if he would eventually win higher office he’d have a bit of experience in government as would the people he works with.

Or he and any other billionaires could stay the fuck out of government like they should.

Senate election is next year. Governor isn’t till 2026. He might try for senate and then president in 28.

Yea there’s no other explanation. He literally LOVES both those things. And nothing outside of becoming a political figure prevents him from continuing to be on TV and be a primary professional sports owner. And he’s gonna fund his own way.

      He’s got my vote 😂

Honestly, Republicans would probably line up to get him on the ticket to move away from the other guy.

I’d vote for him instead of Biden or trump. It’s the trumper main argument he’s a business man, only unlike trump he hasn’t bankrupteddamn near every business he’s ever owned

Or he’s getting out of all his most inflated assets at peak value before this economy finally tanks.

…or he’s going to get accused of something.

Leaving Shark Tank and selling his basketball team in a few days isn’t normal behavior. A life altering disease doesn’t really explain it. He either wants to reduce his public persona or to divest from public assets. Politics or wanting to draw less attention to his family fits the bill, but so does facing charges.

He was accused and cleared (criminally) of sexual assault back in 2011. That’s enough proof to say he’s innocent, so don’t preemptively shit on him, but it’s something to note if something else comes up. That was way before Me Too and no civil (aka cash grab) charges were filed. Plus, the Mavericks already had problems with SA being ignored within the organization.

I’d watch how Sony responds to this and how much he gets featured in shark tank content going forward. The studio is risk averse.

He’s still running the team tho, so he’s not getting out of public life. He’s just cashing in.

When Cuban was out of college and selling software systems one of his first and biggest clients was Perot Systems (Owned by Ross Perot).
