Giannis Free throws in the clutch the past
Giannis is usually a bad free throw shooter he will have stretches where he shoots them well but still ends up in that 65% range on the season but after looking up his FTs in clutch situations, I’ve found he shoots them fairly well for someone who’s known as a bad FT shooter.
23-24 season: 4/4 - 100%
22-23 season: 14/17 - 82.4%
21-22 season: 21/30 - 70%
20-21 season: 7/9 - 77.8%
19-20 season: 11/14 - 78.6%
Although some season he doesn’t shoot many, when he does he’s making them at a fairly decent rate
A lot of people just remember his FTs from the playoffs but forget having a back injury like that makes it extremely difficult to shoot free throws. Obviously he isn’t a good ft shooter in general but going through the FT motion with a hurt back is painful as hell
He is one of my fav players man, the effort and athleticism he plays with is a treat to watch
Where are you getting these numbers?
He was 26 for 36 last year and 28 for 38 the year before.
If he can make them the last two minutes of games, why can’t he always make them? Doesn’t that show he lacks mental focus to make them outside of those two minutes? Why can’t he be focused to make free throws the whole 48 minutes?
