So far I have enjoyed this new concept. But I can’t help but wonder if it would have been a good idea to mix it up even more by having east and west groups together in the bracket.

Have the 1st and 4th seed west teams and the 2nd and 3rd seed east team on one side of the bracket and then the reverse on the other side?

I think it might make for some fun match ups. Make it stand out a bit more from the playoffs. And who knows maybe get an east vs east for or west va west for the nba cup.

I guess tell me why this idea is dumb and wouldn’t work. :)

I believe it you rank the teams 1-8 you end up with

    1. Lakers/8. Suns
    2. Mil/7. Knicks
    3. Indy/ 6. New Orleans
    4. SAC/ 5. Boston Lakers/suns Mill/NY still match to with each other from the same groups, but I guess the other matchups are interesting.

I definitely wish they did. This could be where they try out the different things some fans wish they’d try for normal playoffs.

Like the 1-16 across both conferences, or the top seeds get to pick their opponents
