Dear redittors,
I just received the Beyerdynamic DT880 Edition 600ohm. I actually didn’t pay much attention while ordering to which version I exactly wanted. Now, I received the 600 ohm version, and it turns out this version has the most discount. I plugged this headphone into my motherboard jack, and okay, I had to set the Windows volume slider to 100. After that, I decided to plug this headphone into my Philips 346E2CUAE/00 ultrawide screen, not thinking it would work better than in my Gigabyte B550 Gaming X V2 motherboard. Surprisingly, it does work better; the volume slider is at 50 and is loud enough. Can anyone explain how that is possible? Overall, I’m satisfied that I received the 600ohm version, as I can upgrade to an amplifier later. Any ideas for an affordable headphone amplifier? Or is it not possible to drive a 600-ohm headphone affordably?
I guess your monitor has more powerful amp built in
For an amp. The xDuoo MT-602 will drive them very nicely.
