Some of you might have seen the Swing Coach Club advertised on the Golf Channel a few years ago. It’s a great product. We developed it to actually help your swing (instead of a placebo like most golf training aides). It helps you develop the muscle memory for a correct swing by mimicking the club throwing drill minus throwing clubs (throws balls instead). However, it proved to be a bigger consumer education uphill battle than we were prepared for so sales have been tough without having a robust golf training program to go with it. It moves decently when a semi-famous instructor demos it for their large following but has been difficult to sell otherwise. So now we have ~8,000 clubs sitting in a warehouse begging to be used or sold. Or original load took roughly two 40’ trailers to get in. There’s probably something less than that now (all in case packs of around 25 clubs per case with retail packaging etc).
I know some of you are avid golfers and killer salesmen (or perhaps golf philanthropists). What would you do with these? I didn’t have much luck with the few golf liquidators we tried a few years ago. My less invested partners moved on a while ago… but the inventory is still there.
We shut down our website about a year ago but you can find our product on YouTube if you want to take a look.
I’m looking for ideas. I’m very open to most ideas that don’t entail me putting a lot more time and money into the venture. I would even be ok with one of you taking them off my hands for next to nothing… but it’d need to be all of them and at one time. One of the dumber ideas I’ve had, outside of making a landfill run, is to commission a giant modern art statue to be made from the clubs and dedicating it to our collective (hopefully) periodic entrepreneurial failures. Lol.
