A24 sure seems to be pushing out the rom-coms with the male lead being 10+ years older than the female lead lately.
That’s been common for a literal century of film.
More commenting on the fact that they seem to be falling into the trappings that for a while they seemed to keep clear of. The indie darling is becoming more of a mainstream studio as time goes by.
That’s how that always works. They directly stated as much themselves.
I think it might be a bit of a reflection on the state of younger men. Younger women are becoming less turned off by an age gap if it means the man isn’t a self-absorbed loser.

I must admit that I don’t know much about him, but I suspect he would do great in a role far removed from what he’s best known for, i.e. not a vampire.
Remember Elija Wood in sin city? I’m sure RP could pull off being The Joker (Nolan version) or something similarly insane/weird.

Also hes batman, he can’t play the joker lol. (I know you mean smth similar)
But he has done a lot of indie movies with very weird and unique roles. Hes a serious actor for anyone who’s following his career. Or not. He’s just really good.
I never saw twilight so I don’t have that stain either, although i do remember him from HP.
He has a career much better than Elijah wood etc.
