This video connects Trump’s behavior to the new age thought occult “power of positive thinking” nonsense, and it is depressingly accurate. From that lens, most of what Trump says is his practice of magical thinking and “willing” his thoughts into existence. So everything he does, or enacts, will have no foresight or planning behind it, and no “reality check” feedback because he is removed from the consequences and surrounded by sycophants who prey on these types of “positive thought” people.

What’s the effective approach here, convince enough politicians to have him committed to a mental asylum on grounds he is a danger to himself and others? Is this just proof that the majority of Americans are irrational, that “magical thinking” is now the dominant culture?

The book “Dark Star Rising: Magick and Power in the Age of Trump” by Gary Lachman sets out the same case, including connecting the (first) Trump administration to chaos magick via Aleksandr Dugin.

What fascinates me is this convergence of right and left-wing philopshies. Dugin’s Fourth Political Theory draws on Baudrillard’ Simulation and Simulacra and Debord’s Society of the Spectacle. You then have a connection between the neoreactionary Dark Enlightenment traced to Baudrillard through Yarvin’s “blue/red pill” coinage and the Matrix reference of Baudrillard at the beginning of the movie. Then Baudrillard’s Fatal Strategies of defeating the system by pushing it to its conclusion grotesquely mirrors the goals of these right acceleration movements within the Trump camp.

I’ll be honest, after reading Luke Kemp’s Goliath’s Curse, I think we have to accept the inevitability of civilization collapse. The right has not only accepted it as fact, but has planned and is executing their vision of the future. Of course it will be a travesty of whatever utopia they envision, but the left is woefully at a disadvantage with the most coherent strategy of “return to status quo”.
