Despicably inhumane bullshit, not funny.
The joke here is that as biological organisms, the imperative to reproduce is genuinely more important than short term food and shelter and this man is making intelligent use of his resources to fill his life’s purpose. It only looks absurd.

Love and acceptance are a basic necessity though.
I guess (charitably) the author could be saying the guy is wasting his money by going to a club, but it really reads like punching down on desperate and lonely people.
It’s kind of fun to look at how people feel about charity and rank it on Maslow’s Hierarchy of needs. You can almost tie how good of a person they are to how far up the pyramid they get with their charitable actions. That money wasn’t meant for anything above tier 1/2 needs, Love is a tier 3 need.
