Mike Vrabel and Pats fans were complaining about the refs after blowing a 21 point lead at home.

I watched the replay last night (sorry Vikes, wasn’t interested in your game) and there were only 2 questionable ref calls I thought, and each team got a favorable call.

Pats got a huge break when an obvious trapped ball catch on the ground wasn’t called by the refs nor the NFL’s instant replay gained 30+ yards and scored a TD from there.

Bills got a break when their DB was flagged for a PI when he tugged Bills’ receiver and held him back as the receiver was going for the ball. Technically it WAS a PI so it’s not an error. It was a soft call. The ball on the ground reception was an error.

All the other calls were fine I thought. Obvious holds etc. It was a very cleanly played game. Much cleaner than the usual division games where all kinds of stuff was going on. There isn’t a huge animosity right now between Pats and Bills. But I have a feeling things are going to change after this season. We have the beginning of a renewed rivalry.

So bring your tears and biles Bills and Pats fans. This is just the beginning!

Yes, Mike, we were all surprised when the Bills O-line did not hold on every key play. Maybe they just got better.

But seriously, we may be getting to the point where the game is simply too fast and complicated for humans to officiate in real time. Although I don’t think I want robot refs trying to figure out what is holding and what isn’t.
