I believe antidepressants can be so helpful for the right person. I think an issue we are facing is an overuse of them. Antidepressants are prescribed quite a bit, to the point people who could live without them are taking them. I also believe we should try to keep people who struggle mentally alive as best as we can, and antidepressants can positively contribute to that. My experience with them hasn’t been too amazing, though that’s from me being bipolar.

I got antidepressants a year or so ago and honestly they were life changing.

However, I still think that they should be used as part of a more thorough treatment plan involving therapy, compassion and positive lifestyle changes. Not just as a prescribe and forget treatment.

Medical science and infrastructure has so much more work to do if it wants to actually help with mental health and neuroduversity.
