This seems like the type of short sighted comment you’d see at someone buying a copy of the Communist Manifesto. “How dare you exist in capitalism while also being critical of it”

Sorry, they didn’t buy food or even just some random thing to bring them enjoy… they specifically bought a shirt to criticize capitalism. That’s about as ironic as you can get. It’s not just “existing in capitalism”

Edit: now if it’s a self-referential ironic joke of a shirt… bravo, love it.

In my country you can’t walk around nude. Clothing is absolutely a need and for them to select clothing that is also critical is really just a bonus.

This is what I meant about short sighted

Also, many of my lemmy comments are not well thought out as I don’t tend to waste (much) time on lemmy when my adhd meds are working. Lemmy is where I let loose with all my wackiest stream of consciousness thoughts. Unless the social anxiety reigns that back… that happens sometimes.

I guess, as long as it’s self-aware. But c’mon… we’ve both met people before, right?

Then again, it can spark discussion whether worn ironically or not. So long as it doesn’t turn from, “I need a shirt, might as well get this anti-capitalist one” to “I gotta go get the newest hippest anti-capitalist shirt so I can fit in with all the cool anti-capitalists”.
