1. Curated Story Recommendations: I’ve been sharing some of my favorite short stories here. Hoping this becomes a go-to spot for everyone to find a quality read each day—whether you’re on the go or winding down before bed. I hope these picks make your daily reads more enjoyable.

  2. Exploring New Sources Together: Let’s not only share our favorite stories but also help each other discover fresh sources. Whether it’s hidden gems on a blog, a captivating podcast, or an up-and-coming author on a niche platform, let’s make this community a hub for uncovering diverse sources of short stories.

  3. Platform for New Voices: More than anything I hope we have a platform for emerging writers to showcase their work, ensuring that original perspectives have space to flourish. I love nothing more than reading works by one of our own.

  4. Constructive Feedback Culture: Encourage members to provide thoughtful, constructive feedback, fostering an environment of growth and improvement for writers at all skill levels. This relies on members posting their own work which I strongly endorse.

  5. Respect for Copyright: While a pirate myself, for the sake of this instance’s rules, I hope to promote respect for intellectual property. Anytime I haven’t posted a link it’s a story pre 1923.

  6. Engagement and Collaboration: Facilitate collaboration among members, fostering a sense of community through joint projects, anthologies, and shared endeavors. This seems a bit too optimistic for a community so small but one can dream.

  7. More Meta Discussions: Encourage meta discussions in our community to foster a deeper understanding of narrative choices, enabling members to explore diverse perspectives and refine their storytelling skills collaboratively.

I also intend to add a few communities on the sidebar for discovery. Please recommend any community you think we should have tagged.

ooo, I like short stories. You should add a rule to tag short stories with genre to make them searchable.

re #5 I think you’re more worried about plagiarism than piracy.

Oh totally, I’ve got all of his stuff. Dudes brilliant. Have you ever checked out the author “Exurb1a”? Weirdly enough the guy/girl? used to be or maybe still is a YouTuber. I’ve never watched their videos, but they wrote a bunch of short story books and it’s cool because most of the stories actually lead to a certain destination or exist in it universe together, which is always cool. Sometimes they just tie into each other. Anyway, their sci-fi writings are very cool and thought provoking in my opinion. If you’re into that kind of sci-fi where it’s totally out there stuff. Last I recall their books were pretty cheap on Kindle. Maybe just a couple of bucks but I could be wrong. Check him/her out if you haven’t.

Exurb1a writes stories? I only know him from youtube where I savor his videos because they’re just a dimension above every thing else I get to watch. They’re transcendent. The guy just has so much passion for seemingly random but insanely deep things.
