I have so much of 祭り町 left to edit, but I need to narrow it down to my ten best frames, and get that into them.

At the absolute worst, I’m framing my rejection letter.

This is the work I’m planning to submit. I have a lot of it printed in 8x12” and bigger, all the way up to 24x36”.

I hope it pleases the jury. It’s the best work I can muster.

You should absolutely go for this, and don’t let yourself be disheartened if it doesn’t work out this time or in this specific opportunity - that competition is open to “all photographers on the planet Earth”, and from those submissions, will select a couple of hundred finalists. Those are pretty hard numbers to work with (for both the submitters and selectors).

Framing rejection letters is a pretty good way to let yourself laugh at it if it doesn’t work out.

Remember that you’ve got some interesting, fun and beautifully shot photographs, and that there’s many similar opportunities around - which you should also go for, regardless of how well this particular one goes :)

No place for violence in such a quaint town.

That said, the shogi pieces are having an undercover battle in the alleys and rooftops.
