I created this channel https://conversations.im/j/the-economy@conference.movim.eu on Jabber.
Here’s the description :
Welcome to a forum dedicated to the study and discussion of political economy, labor, production, and distribution.
This channel serves as a place for thoughtful conversations about how goods and services are created, exchanged, and distributed in society. We welcome a wide range of viewpoints and encourage respectful dialogue among people with different perspectives.
Topics of interest include:
- Capitalism and alternative economic systems
- Labor, workers, and workplace organization
- Ownership, investment, and the role of capital
- Production, supply chains, and distribution
- Markets, trade, and commerce
- Cooperatives and employee ownership
- Economic history and the history of industry
- Class relations and social organization
- Industrial development and globalization
- Agriculture, manufacturing, and services
- Automation, artificial intelligence, and their impact on labor
- Technological innovation and productivity (as a secondary topic)
- Logistics, infrastructure, and resource management
- Economic theory and political economy
This is not a channel for partisan campaigning or personal attacks. Healthy disagreement is welcome, but discussions should be conducted in a spirit of curiosity, mutual respect, and a desire to understand different perspectives.
Whether you are a worker, entrepreneur, investor, academic, engineer, student, or simply someone interested in how societies organize production and distribute resources, you are welcome here.
The goal of this community is to explore one of humanity’s oldest questions:
How should people cooperate to produce wealth, organize labor, and distribute the fruits of human effort in a changing technological world?
But l don’t know how to reach out to more and more people.
Any ideas anybody ??
I used Jabber a long time ago with other students on very specific projects at school, but it’s mostly dead now I guess.
Regarding your guidance about my homework, l shall be making a live USB stick of MX Linux, and working with it. Enough of windows and WSL.
What’s dead ?? Jabber ???
Join my group then…
Jabber wasn’t meant for large groups or real-time communications. Anything is better nowadays.
