We got 3 bags of them. Great season for those.
Nice!! I wish mine would stop dropping off the tree.
I wish mine would make any at all but I guess planting them under a big maple tree wasn’t the best plan.
I’m just surprised to find out maple and avocado have overlapping ranges 😅
They’re both a bit marginal here tbh haha. My climate is at the cusp of subtropical and temperate.
But avocados are hardier than many people imagine. Depends on the variety but with climate change I think a whole swath of the southern US and Europe may be able to grow them soon. Some varieties can survive the mid to low 20s F.
Yeah - I did like 2 minutes of research and it looks like the native ranges didnt overlap but the current commercial growing areas definitely push further north than I realized.
Aren’t they kind of annoying to get to pollinate though?
Yes that’s the main issue in my area more so than frost actually. We don’t have their native pollinators here. And the flowers bloom in spring when it’s quite cool, so many years you don’t get good production. The flowers only develop properly in warm temps (like 80s).
They were put there by a bee
In an orchard on the grounds?
