My friends and I hiked this each year around Aug 22 to be there for the perseid meteor showers ( for the better part of 25 Years annually. We’ve stayed at the state park and other camps. The blueberries on the way up are phenomenal. Beware the false peaks as they will frustrate. One year I hiked it barefoot - not a good idea. Coming down there is a good long patch where you can slide down at considerable speed on your ass and feet. We called it rump bumping and one year after that slide I had to finish with my underwear and ass showing after being g bit too aggressive. Got a bunch of hoots and whistles on the way down. Wonderful mountain. Absolutely reccomend.
